Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) says"Better off somewhere else. Not worth your time. Culture is apprehensive. Support staff very unhappy. Management will not support you. Would not recommend this firm. I have worked at many different firms this one is in the top two terrible places. Cons: None"
Temporary Employee (Former Employee) says"I worked there for a few weeks in which I covered a vacant litigation secretary desk. Tasks included opening incoming mail and notifying the Calendar Dept. and notifying informing attorneys."
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT TECHNICIAN (Current Employee) says"Grossly under staffed, top heavy at the management/director level. Work days can often go well into the evening, as there're west cost office that require support. Cons: Lack of employee retention, no continuity."
Legal Secretary (Current Employee) says"Arent Fox needs to seriously work on how they treat their staff. They need to offer better healthcare benefits and show their staff appreciation and give them the respect they deserve."
Senior Paralegal (Former Employee) says"Unfortunately the person I worked under was a bully. The fact that everyone knew this did not seem to matter. She was never counseled on how to work with other people. As a result if you made any friends in the office she would retaliate against you."
Receptionist (Former Employee) says"I enjoyed working with the attorneys and some of the support staff. Management seemed one side in situations, seemed more of a clique than a work environment, favorites were played with management and secretary staff. They had social events in the office, which by the end of my time there I no longer attended. I could not trust anyone that I worked with. Cons: Working environment"
Formalities Specialist (Former Employee) says"Arent Fox used to be the place to be; but I wouldn't recommend this firm if you're looking for job stability. There seems to be an overwhelming revolving door for employment opportunities due to a poorly managed firm. I haven't heard good things about the firm in recent years and although I was terminated, I still encouraged people to work there... I even re-applied for employment a few years ago and it's probably a good thing I wasn't considered."
Attorney (Current Employee) says"Decent place to work. Hard work pays off. I have enjoyed my time working there. Nice Co-workers, interesting work, need to enbed yourself with a team,"
Legal Secretary (Temp Floater) says"Busy and still growing. HR manager has been ill and therefore the work was distributed unevenly. I came in an assisted all departments. Co workers and attorneys were wonderful to assist. Cons: Too short to access."
Legal Secretary (Former Employee) says"The law firm has very talented attorneys. Some of them are very strict, however, they are very professional and big billers. It was a great experience working there."
Complex Commercial Litigation Associate (Former Employee) says"The firm touted itself as a lifestyle firm but quickly changed. There were some good partners and some terrible ones. I happened to work for one of the terrible ones."
Attorney (Former Employee) says"A nice place to work. People were friendly, and the pressure was not high. The attorneys were easy to get along with. They had the best food for lunches and holiday parties in Washington. Cons: None"
Paralegal (Current Employee) says"This a K Street law firm; the expectations are high. The staff are friendly, office is nice, but the management is all over the place. The hours are bad but that's to be expected for a DC law firm. Non-attorneys are underpaid for the area. Cons: Bad 401k plans"
Associate Attorney (Former Employee) says"International client based seeking counsel on range of interesting U.S. regulatory issues faced in cross-border transactions. Supportive work colleagues and flexible work environment."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Arent Fox full-time Cons: Office politics-culture. Overall dissatisfaction with this firm."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Arent Fox full-time Cons: Managers are very sneaky so watch your back and stay to yourself"
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Arent Fox full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Very cliquey work environment. Non-legal staff are very snobby (especially the marketing dept.) and, if you're not one of the cool kids/popular people, this work environment will be a living hell. Promotions aren't based on merit but instead on whether or not you're best buddies with your manager."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Arent Fox full-time Cons: Management over looks talented employees, no room for growth. Management is always looking to point the figure as well."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Arent Fox full-time Cons: Below market compensation for NY. Little to no bonus. Incompetent management. Nonexistent culture. Horrible support staff."
Former Employee - Attorney says"I worked at Arent Fox full-time for more than 3 years Cons: This Firm lacks clear vision and sacrifices quality for partner profits. This Firm care very little about its staff,"
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Arent Fox full-time for more than a year Cons: No management structure. Everything is run by LA or DC office. Treated like the ugly step child. Be very worried about layoffs"
says"I worked at Arent Fox Cons: If you aren't 'in' with the right people in management, your life with this firm will be hell, no matter how dedicated a loyal an employee you are."
Intellectual Property Department says"I worked at Arent Fox Cons: Working here you will be completely overworked and vastly underpaid. As another reviewer mentioned, they try to save money by having an inadequate amount of staff for the work necessary. The home office in Washington, DC is completely out of touch and apathetic toward satellite offices. Department managers and directors in DC are more than colleagues, they are friends who keep their friends within their circle. If you aren't in the circle, you will never be promoted or appreciated in any manner. The salaries are extremely low in the Los Angeles office, despite this being an east coast based firm. If they continue to ignore their LA office it will not exist anymore."
Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says"I worked at Arent Fox full-time Cons: Nasty, untrustworthy, no direction, not enough work, senior management clueless, felt thrown together, very unprofessional"
